O U R C L U B
We are the Portland Winemakers Club and we like wine. Especially making it. In fact, our group of home winemakers has been practicing the craft of home winemaking in Portland, OR for more than 50 years. That makes us Oregon’s oldest winemaking club and just goes to show that when we say experienced, we mean experienced.
Pinot Noirs, big reds, whites, fortified wines, fruit and dessert wines, and even the occasional sparkling wine are all produced within the club. Individuals make anywhere from 5–10 gallons to nearly 200 gallons per vintage and are known to experiment with different clones and varietals, yeast and oak regimes, and winemaking techniques as they strive to develop the perfect bottle of wine.
Ask any of the PWC members and they’ll tell you that being a garagista is serious business. Then they’ll probably offer to pour you a taste.
